Daily Quote:

Deep Thought: “Why aren’t pizzas measured in round inches?”

Noticed while driving: “Whooa, that motel is $27 a night and their steak dinner 1/3 of that price.”

Overhead mumbling in truck: “What do they mean by square meals?”

Overheard in Taco Truck staring at Grand Canyon: “I think I would get bored staring at this if I lived here after awhile.” “Yeah, I would get bored staring at anything after awhile.” “Really, you’d get bored of staring at Chris Hemsworth?” “Oh, ok… no.”

Car Chatter: “Are Gloria Estefan and Sheena Easton cousins?”

Animals We Saw:

An emu, a boring dumb cow (so she says) and a couple of geese.

Songs of the Drive:

Duran Duran - the Reflex

Things to Retire after the trip:

Hot cocoa, rice crisps, our knees, Sirus XM radio, Taco the truck’s back pad, sandwiches, trail maps, Kleenex, hot lava packs, glacier glasses and Vertrees antique goggles.

Special Shoutout Thanks To:

Taco the Truck (and Dave). Without Taco we’d probably still be stuck in one of the 8 blizzards we drove through. Best Memories of Taco: We both had “our sides’ of the extra cab – Steamboat Springs underground ‘car wash’ – Guiseppe being relegated to the backseat the last week – lava pack graveyard – toilet paper stash – and, just getting us home in one piece on old country roads.

“You can’t spell Tacoma without a Taco.”

Ski Day Update:

Weather Update: 20° - 29 ° degrees | 9 inches

Day started off a little slow as only 4 chairs were open as it was windy up top. Before lunch we had skied almost every open run.  After a pitcher, sando and a rice crisper treat we were off AND….AND… the summit was now open. Super fun rest of the day. Pea.chip’s legs were off and going as she had a bag of chips and was powder 8-ing down the slopes for the rest of the day. Bonus as we got to ski to Taco.
